i stole this from about 3 peoples xangas .. namely sally, jullet and trish. :) so for the COMPLETE version - see them. :)The point of a relationship is not to have someone around to go drive around aimlessly with and eat KFC. Relationships should be based upon growth, inspiration and stimulation. Keep each other guessing and you'll have something real, something enlightening and balanced. When you're fascinated by someone's mind, think of how mind-blowing the chemistry could be. Which leads me to my second point:
Never, never, NEVER settle. Also--
You can't expect to catch the best fish in the sea if you don't work on yourself. Think of it as relationship marketing--you have to market yourself as the most attractive candidate if you want the best. Everyone has different standards...just be your best. Start improving yourself before you whip out a list of things you look for in a partner. Nothing is deserved which is not worked for.
Relationships should be balanced. To achieve the ideal state of equilibrium, you have to be willing to show your vulnerabilities. Furthermore, throughout your life, people will fall for you whom you can't feel the same way about (and vice-versa). Don't ever blame yourself for being who you are and having the thoughts/feelings/whatever (or lackthereof) that you do.
While relationships are built on trust, communication, and making sacrifices (among a myriad of other things), always remember your priorities. A relationship should enhance your life(refer to point number 1), not detract from it. And trust yourself, listen to your instincts and speak your own mind. Winston Churchill once said, "Solitary trees, if they grow at all, grow strong."
Which brings me to the ultimate bottom line: We're in college! Don't waste time stressing about relationships--the college years are supposed to be among the greatest years of your life. What's the point of expending so much energy on searching for the ideal partner? Instead, take that energy and channel it to getting the most out of college you can. Find a passion. Treasure your friendships. Wholeheartedly devote yourself to a very worthy cause, get involved. Hell, rearrange your sock drawer. Do you really want to define college by the "relationships" that have come and gone?
and this is my FOURTH xanga entry in ONE day.
who owns xanga now!!?
